2024 Prayer Revival
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I write to you today with a heavy heart and an urgent plea. Our nation and our world are in turmoil, and the hour is late. The moral and spiritual decline we are witnessing is unprecedented, and the challenges before us are immense. Yet, we serve a God who is mighty to save, and His promises remain true.
The time has come for us to return to the ancient paths, to humble ourselves and seek the face of Almighty God. As 2 Chronicles 7:14 reminds us, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” This is not a time for complacency or half-hearted devotion. It is a time for fervent prayer, deep repentance, and a renewed commitment to God.
At Crossroads Baptist Church, we have felt the Lord leading us to do something different for our fall revival this year. Instead of a series of planned sermons and songs, we will be holding a Revival of Prayer. There will be no agenda, no performances—just God’s people gathering together to cry out to Him for mercy, guidance, and renewal. We will be meeting on Sunday September 22 at 6:00 PM, and then nightly at 7:00 PM from September 23rd through September 26th. This final night will mark 40 days before the upcoming election—a time of divine testing. We believe it is no coincidence that God has called us to this time of prayer.
We cannot do this alone. We need you, your church, and all who are burdened for our nation to join us. This is not about an individual church or geography or ethnicity or political affiliation; it is about the body of Christ uniting in prayer. We invite you and your congregation to come and stand with us in the gap, to seek the Lord together in humility and faith.
Let us not be found wanting in this critical hour. May we rise to the occasion, lift up our voices, and call upon the name of the Lord. For we know that the fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much (James 5:16). Let us rise and stand as the righteous people God has called us to be as we bow and prostrate ourselves before the Holy God of Heaven for the needs of our land.
Please join us at Crossroads Baptist Church from September 22nd to 26th, as we seek God’s face together. Let us believe that He will hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Jeremy Peters
